Portfolio
Due to Neocities' spacing constraints, I uploaded images and information of individual projects as a blog post hosted by my old website on Wordpress. What can be done here, however, are retroactive comments about how the work came to be and what I could do to redux it when time comes!
Things I Did In University
Edwards Queer Student Society (EQSS): EQSS x EBSS Merchandise Drop
Story: It was first collaboration between two business student societies, with just one letter's distance. Rising from the brainstorm was a beautiful butterfly soaring out of its societal box. The rainbow wings spread to reveal the true, authentic self to those who look at the person wearing the sweater. I subjected my supervisors to a debateably torturous review process. Granted, that's a multi-stage process I learned to do back in graphic design college. In the end, I take pride (no pun intended) in developing this design! Apparently, it made 12+ sales when it was dropped. Sadly, it is no longer available for purchase.

Enactus: Re-Colour
Story: Crayons from those restaurant kid menus could have been landfill. But they've been rescued, peeled, melted, molded and ready to go...almost. They needed a box to travel in. I desgined a simple and sustainable packaging design that can go on little cardboard boxes. As of writing, they are for sale at the Better Good in Saskatoon, SK.

Things I Did For Graphic Design College
Assortment of Advertisements
Story:A selection of conceptual advertisments back in graphic design college. These were the ones that were well-received.
S: The copywriting turned out well. I knew my good grades in English class would come in handy.
W: The illustrations could be refined. I'm not too much of a fan of the 'corporate' art style, but if it's trending, I'm following it.
O: There are more companies I could make advertisements for. I'll start with small businesses looking to get the word out about their presence.
T: Potential legal action for supposed impersonation of an existing brand. Even if I put a disclaimer that these aren't real ads. Big companies can be scary!
A Case Study on Broadway Cafe
Story:My capstone project back in graphic design!
S: It fits the 'old' vibe of the business.
W: Information and research on this restaurant is scarce, and I had to rely on the aesthetic of 1950's Americana. At the time of doing this, I never went to eat there (booooo!), so I did it all by my impressions of their Facebook page and website. This is partially because they didn't get back to me when I made my inquiry.
O: Now that I have more time on my hands, I can actually visit this location and see what they're really about. Maybe this time, I'll get an answer for what they'd look for if they ever rebranded, or wanted to.
T: Management would probably not like me if they knew I proceeded based on assumptions.
Spenci's
Story:This is a conceptual pizza place with one of my beloved original characters serving as the mascot.
S: The mascot! Enough said.
W: I heard illustrative logos aren't as trendy these days. Especially those that aren't in the "corporate art style."
O: What if someone DOES want to start a pizza buisiness? Also, I'd change the teal back to black. Even if using black in branding is overrated, it looks better. Especially because I'm doing an Ancient Greek pottery reference. Another thing I can do is have Spenci dress up for holidays. Nobody minds if he turns into a rabbit for April, right? And does he have a family?
T: My concerns about intellectual property are heightened. You know how the ideas you pitch to executives risk getting taken from you? That's what I fear for Spenci.
The Purl Magazine
Story:A selection of conceptual advertisments back in graphic design college. These were the ones that were well-received.
S: The illustrations are cute.
W: The entire layout inside could use some work. To me, it's just gaudy. I would not have this in print. Or for digital viewing.
O: I'd add more borders. And more cats.
T: The cuteness of the cats, maybe?
An Assortment of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator Jobs
Story: A selection of things I did in Photoshop and Illustrator back in college.
S: They're all bursting with ideas. They get straight to the point about what they are.
W: Art is subjective, but design is not. This is moreso art.
O: I'd make more of these because they're fun. Maybe I should advertise my capabilities in Photoshop?
T: ...if I still had Photoshop and Illustrator.
